Melanoma goes Viral

Melanoma goes Viral - isn't a bad thing.

It's not a bug you can catch. It's not some new way to spread disease. It's an information pathway. Over the past few days, information sharing, story sharing, and warriors reaching out to each other seems to have exploded - virally. Spread over the internet, Facebook, blogging - you name it. Some of it has been inspired by the reaching out to support our fellow warrior Samantha. We have been following her story for a long time. She has been very inspirational to all of us other warriors. We want to be there for her like she's been there for us. I only wish I would have known her longer; known her in person. That would have been wonderful. Others of it has been inspired by our new friend Steve. His story has been hitting all of our pages at a rapid rate. Through looking at his picture story you can see what a special person he is to his family and friends. Prayers have been flying all over for him to regain his health. These, of course, are only a couple of the stories out there. As Carol reminded us, there are many, many more warriors out there needing support. We can help Carol and the Melanoma Prayer Center to pray for them and keep them in our thoughts and hearts too. Then there was the huge backlash of people posting on Dr. Oz's site after that doctor was on talking about his special tanning bed to get vitamin D if you can't get out in the sun. Some of our more vocal warriors hopped all over that. Good for us for wanting everyone to have proper information and not be led down the wrong pathway by people trying to profit from everyone's fears. I've also posted information on new clinical trials either enrolling right now or coming up soon. Lots of new treatments may be on the horizon if these trials are successful. Encouraging.
